LHE works on the principle of selective photothermalysis. As your skin ages, various factors lead to its degeneration including imperfections such as age spots, vascular lesions and fine lines.

The heat that follows the light pulse coagulates sun and age spots by heating the entire treated area. The accumulative energy can then reach the required coagulation temperature.
Using the LHE Technology for age spots, the light directly targets the pigmented spot's melanin, initiating the heating process. Oxy-hemoglobin in vascular lesions and melanin in pigmented lesions are coagulated in a similar way. The coagulated cells are eliminated by a natural process and replaced by new cells.

For fine lines and wrinkles, the LHE selectively inflicts Micro Thermal Trauma (MT) in the dermal-epidermal junction. The MT triggers a wound-healing process and new collagen remodels under an undamaged outer layer.
